Quality Assurance Control Plan

Last Modified: 26-09-2024

This Quality Assurance Control Plan outlines the inspection methods, acceptance criteria, documentation requirements, and responsibilities associated with the design, production, delivery, and installation of bathroom pods manufactured by Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

1. Design Control

Drawings and Position Lists

Each bathroom pod type is visually reviewed. Drawings must correspond to the project documentation and be approved by the main contractor no later than 10 weeks before the first delivery. Written confirmation must be submitted to Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner, referencing the document name and date.

Responsible: Project Manager from Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Material Lists

Material lists for each pod type are visually inspected to ensure compliance with the project specification. These must also be approved by the main contractor no later than 10 weeks before the first delivery, with written confirmation submitted to Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Responsible: Project Manager from Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

2. Production Process Control

Receipt of Goods and Material Integration

Incoming materials are visually inspected upon receipt and before release for production. Materials must match the approved material list. Data sheets and certificates for installed materials are collected and maintained.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Casting and Pod Shell Inspection

Each bathroom pod is inspected visually and through measurements during production. Checks include dimensions, plumb and level, embedments, insulation, curing, and floor falls. All results are recorded in the internal digital quality system.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Wet Room Membrane

Primer, sealing, and membrane layers are visually inspected for surface quality and joint integrity. All work must follow supplier guidelines. Documentation is recorded in the digital system.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Fermacell Boards (Walls and Ceilings)

Inspections include steel framing, insulation, acoustic sealant, fastening of panels, surface finish, and vapour barrier (where required). All work must follow supplier instructions, and documentation is stored digitally.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Tiling Works

Tiles, adhesive, grout, floor slopes, and drains are inspected visually and by measurement. Layout must comply with drawings, floor falls must be at least 30 mm from door to drain, and grout must be even and defect-free.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Vinyl Flooring

Substrate preparation, priming, levelling, surface condition, and joints are visually inspected. Floors must be fully primed and levelled, without bumps or depressions. Joints must be tight (max. 0.5 mm) with sharp edges and a flush finish.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Painting Works

All filling, priming, wall lining, and painting is inspected visually and must comply with recognised painting trade standards and treatment guidelines.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Plumbing Installations

Plumbing installations are visually inspected to ensure compliance with drawings, national regulations, and supplier instructions, including correct insulation of PEX pipes.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Electrical Installations

Electrical work is visually inspected and must comply with drawings, national regulations, and supplier requirements.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

Ventilation Installations

Ventilation installations are inspected visually to ensure alignment with drawings. Where specified, condensation and fire insulation must be installed correctly. Ventilation drawings and insulation details must be approved by the client’s consultant at least 10 weeks before the first delivery. Leakage tests are not performed. Approvals are recorded in project start-up meeting minutes.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

3. Final Factory Inspections

Internal Final Inspection

Each bathroom pod undergoes final internal inspection covering compliance with drawings, correct sanitary equipment, approved surfaces, completed installation of fittings, and electrical testing. Work must be free of visible defects and follow the material list.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

External Final Inspection

The outer surfaces and M&E installations are visually checked and measured. The inspection includes compliance with drawings, correct installation of ventilation, electrical and plumbing connections, pressure testing of water and heating systems (3 bar / 0.3 MPa / 43.5 PSI), and visual testing of drainage using water. Lifting inserts must be correctly installed.

Responsible: Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.

4. Site Delivery and Installation Control

Receiving and Installation Control on Site

Each bathroom pod is inspected visually and through measurement before and after installation. Installation must follow the agreed installation and handover instructions. Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner does not document installation performed on site.

Responsible: Appointed subcontractor on site.

5. Site Functional Testing

Function Testing of Fixtures and Sanitary Equipment

Functional testing includes hot and cold water verification, electrical testing, and surface inspection. These checks are performed continuously according to the project schedule and documented in the process and final inspection forms.

Responsible: Service technician from Nordic Offsite’s manufacturing partner.
